Research Tools of the New Schubert Edition
To support the New Schubert Edition’s editorial activities, the editorial board has constantly remained abreast of current Schubert scholarship, to which it has made contributions itself. This has resulted in various research tools that the board makes available for academic work.
- The Schubert Database is based on an ongoing revision and expansion of Otto Erich Deutsch’s thematic catalogue, most recently updated in 1978. It provides an overview of Schubert’s complete oeuvre and contains information on the date of composition, title, text incipit and poet (if applicable), and scoring of each work concerned. The database is constantly being updated.
- The Tübingen Schubert Archive, in existence since 1965, is a large collection of source reproductions and academic literature on Schubert and the scholarly editing of his music.
