The New Schubert Edition is subdivided by genre and is generally arranged in chronological order within each genre.
The volumes of music and documents for the New Schubert Edition are published by the House of Bärenreiter. The Critical Reports are published separately by the International Schubert Society.
The editorial guidelines for the New Schubert Edition were drawn up together with the first volumes of music. They are now available in an updated 7th version (Tübingen, 2022).
