Dr. Rudolf Faber was born in Ulm in 1958. After taking a degree from the School of Church Music in Rottenburg am Neckar, he studied musicology, Old German language and literature, and modern German literature in Tübingen and Freiburg, earning in master’s degree in 1986 and his doctorate at Tübingen University in 2008. From 1986 he was the organist at St. Elisabeth’s in Ulm, a lecturer in the Department of Musicology at Tübingen University, and a freelance dramaturge for various theaters, festivals, concert series, and ensembles. Later he worked as a research associate for the New Mozart Edition in Salzburg (2000–2006) and a copy-editor of keyboard music for Bärenreiter in Kassel (2006–2010). Since summer 2010 he has been a research associate for the New Schubert Edition in Tübingen.
